Meagan McClelland named B1G Goalkeeper of the Week

Rutgers women’s soccer sophomore Meagan McClelland was named the Big Ten’s Goalkeeper of the Week on Wednesday. The Kearny native, who was named the conference’s Freshman of the Year last season, produced a pair of shutouts last week. She recorded 4 saves total in wins over then no. 11 Tennessee and Providence.

This is the third time in McClelland’s career that she has received Big Ten weekly honors.

Associate head coach Meg Ryan said of McClelland in our season preview that “she is very composed back there and her calmness gives the players on the back line a lot of confidence in what she says and does from a technical perspective.
