Linebacker Syhiem Simmons Announces Transfer Out Of Rutgers Football

As training camp for Rutgers football enters week two, the credit card investigation which resulted in six players being held out of practice, has not yet concluded. On Friday, redshirt freshman linebacker Syhiem Simmons, one of the six players reportedly under investigation, announced he was granted his full release and is transferring out of the program.

While it remains to be seen what the investigation uncovers and whether ultimately any players are actually charged with a crime, the Jersey City native decided to move on from Rutgers. The former 3-star recruit never played a game after redshirting last season and was held out of training camp since it began last week.
