PISCATAWAY -- Jafar Williams didn't know what to make of it at the time, but now Rutgers wide receivers coach thinks Ahmir Mitchell's mother might be clairvoyant.
Back in April, when Mitchell first suffered a torn ACL, Williams expected a typical timetable for recovery. It can run 8-12 months, but the promising redshirt freshman is way ahead of schedule.
"His mother said something about that," Williams said. "She said, 'My boy is a fast healer.' She was right. A couple months after surgery he was out there trying to run around.
