On National SIgning Day, Rutgers formally secured the commitment of Mississippi standout Julius Turner. The commit was a big victory for Rutgers as Turner was previously slated to join Louisiana Tech. Going to Louisiana Tech obviously would have meant staying closer to home, but the opportunity that awaiting Turner in New Jersey was just too good to pass up, the youngster tells StateOfRutgers.com.
"For me, it just came down to the new coaching staff led by the new head coach Chris Ash," Turner said. "You know, when you look at his background, it's really impressive. This is a guy who has a history of winning and he comes from such a legendary program in Ohio State.
