Jawuan Harris suspended for Rutgers baseball's spring break trip

Rutgers baseball will be without its best player for its spring break trip.

Center fielder Jawuan Harris, a potential early-round pick in June's MLB First Year Player Draft, has been suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules and did not travel to Florida with the team Thursday, a Rutgers spokesman told NJ Advance Media.

Harris was not in the lineup for the Scarlet Knights' 12-3 home loss to Iona on Tuesday due to the suspension, and he will miss all seven games Rutgers will play in Florida over the next 10 days, starting with Friday night's contest against Army to open a three-game series in Fort Myers.
