Ticketed to be the rare two-sport athlete at Rutgers, Jawuan Harris still may never play any.
Harris inked a letter of intent to Rutgers football as part of National Signing Day in February and simultaneously committed to join the baseball team under a loose arrangement worked out by the two head coaches.
But the Pembroke Pines, Fla. native has parlayed a breakout senior season on the diamond into a handful of scouted workouts for Major League Baseball organizations, the first of which happened last weekend as first reported by the South Florida Sun Sentinel. The MLB First-Year Player Draft is June 8-10.
