The Rutgers football program scored a Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 82 percent and a Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) of 58 percent in the latest report released Wednesday by the NCAA for all Division I institutions.
Rutgers' GSR figure ranks tied for sixth among Big Ten football programs and tied for 35th nationally among Football Bowl Subdivision teams. Among Big Ten teams, only Northwestern (99), Nebraska (85), Indiana (84), Penn State (84) and Minnesota (83) posted better GSR scores than Rutgers.
This year's GSR is based on student-athletes who entered college in the fall of 2010 and shows the percentage of those student-athletes who earned a degree by the spring of 2016.
