LINCOLN, NEB. -- One year ago, Rutgers lost a star player to a season-ending leg injury in the Big Ten opener and everything subsequently collapsed on that side of the ball.
Is that about to happen again?
Rutgers cornerback Blessaun Austin suffered a potentially serious knee injury during the third quarter of a 27-17 loss to Nebraska at Memorial Stadium. He was helped off the field without putting pressure on his leg and did not return to action.
"I'm concerned about it long term," coach Chris Ash said. "Until we get back (home) and find out the extent of the injury.
