Heading into his first training camp as Rutgers football coach, Chris Ash had specific goals in mind.
He wanted to build a toughness that would harden his players through the grind of Big Ten play, and he hoped to create chemistry for a unit still familiarizing itself with the new coaching staff.
After practicing 29 times over 20 days, Ash said he was pleased with the results last August.
"I think we found out that we have a football team that is tough,'' Ash said at the conclusion of his first training camp.
