Tomorrow, Rutgers will play Indiana for the fourth time. The series currently is led by Rutgers two wins to one. The games have all been interesting ones, Rutgers coming from behind for a big win (2014), an amazing Rutgers comeback to squeak out a win (2015), Indiana coming from behind for a big win (2016).
At this point, Indiana is an 11 point favorite for this game. Is that realistic? I don’t think so, so I decided to look at their common opponents and see what, if anything, can be gleaned from those games this year. Now, before your head explodes, I already know that you can not extrapolate performance based upon common opponents, but I think there may be trends that can be examined.
