PISCATAWAY -- Once Kyle Bolin was named a Rutgers co-captain, the writing was on the wall that he would be named starting quarterback.
Chris Ash put it in ink Monday by naming Bolin as the winner of a training camp battle against Giovanni Rescigno and Johnathan Lewis.
"He has really good command of the offense," Ash said, "but it's really just about executing, making good decisions and protecting the football and understanding all aspects of the offense."
Bolin arrived in late May as a one-year graduate transfer from Louisville, which made him an unusual choice as one of Rutgers' four team-voted captains last week.
