As the calendar flips to 2018, the question of who will call plays for Rutgers next fall is unknown.
But one thing is certain: whoever takes over as Rutgers’ next offensive coordinator will earn his salary.
The fact that there are question marks at every play-making position — quarterback, tailback and wide receiver — is probably no surprise considering Rutgers ranked 121st nationally in scoring and 129th in total yards produced en route to a 4-8 record in 2017.

Earlier this month, Rutgers coach Chris Ash discussed what he’s seeking in Rutgers’ next offensive play-caller, saying he wants “a leader for the players’’ in addition to someone who can develop the quarterbacks.
