PISCATAWAY -- Gus Edwards walked into the Hale Center room designated for interviews, talking on a cell phone, and asked the media-relations direction how long his service was required.

"Five minutes? Okay, see you then,'' the Rutgers fifth-year senior running back said to the person on the other end of the phone.

For the Staten Island, N.Y., native who grew up about 45 minutes from Rutgers' High Point Solutions Stadium, the season-opening loss to Washington served as a homecoming.

"I get to go talk to my family now, something I never did after the games at Miami,'' said Edwards, a grad transfer running back who spent the past four years at Miami.
