This week, Rutgers became the first Power 5 school to extend an offer to explosive Avalon School (Gaithersburg, Md.) defensive tackle Chazz Wallace, who visited campus in February.
"I went to Rutgers earlier this year for a junior day," the 6-2, 285-pound junior told NJ Advance Media. "I also visited the University of Maryland this year, but that's about it."
However, Wallace visited a few others in 2017, including Wake Forest, N.C. State, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech, while he camping at in-state Maryland that year. His visit timetable was accelerated as Wallace was originally a class of 2019 prospect before re-classifying at Avalon.
