Ex-Rutgers cornerback Marcus Cooper to Chicago fans: 'I knew that I wanted to be a Bear'

It's not unusual for players on their way out of a city to publicly thank the fans as they head to another team.

But former Rutgers cornerback Marcus Cooper put an interesting twist on his open letter, thanking Chicago Bears fans for their support before he even put on the team's uniform.

Three days after signing a three-year deal reportedly guaranteed at $8 million to join the Chicago Bears, Cooper tweeted a letter on personalized letterhead that explained his reasoning for joining the "iconic' franchise known for producing Dick Butkus, Mike Ditka, Gayle Sayers, Brian Urlacher and Walter Payton.
