Greg Schiano may not be back as Ohio State's defensive coordinator in 2018 after all.
The former Rutgers coach will interview for the New England Patriots' soon-to-be-vacant defensive coordinator position after Super Bowl LII, according to NBC Sports Boston. The job will come open once current defensive coordinator Matt Patricia finalizes his departure to become the Detroit Lions' head coach following Sunday's championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
That Schiano would be considered for the job is no surprise. He is close with Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who has a well-established affinity for Rutgers. Schiano isn't necessarily a slam dunk to get the gig, though.
