Eric LeGrand’s ability to play with nephews a testament to events like A Walk to Believe

Eric LeGrand’s two nephews are too young to remember their uncle as a Rutgers football star, but they recently found out just how much he enjoys winning.

With the help of Reeve Foundation-launched Adaptoys – children’s toys specially designed for adult users with paralysis – LeGrand spent an afternoon racing remote-control cars and playing baseball with his sister’s sons.

“It was amazing to be able to play with them physically again and to see how competitive they are,” LeGrand said of Xavier and Isaac Harrigan – ages six and four – before breaking into laughter.
