Perhaps the quietest and most steadfast member of the class of 2019, Chris Conti stayed committed to Rutgers. The DePaul Catholic product committed to the Scarlet Knights in June. He signed Wednesday.
Conti excelled at linebacker and fullback at the high school level. He has also participated in ice hockey and lacrosse. This is very appropriate considering his toughness on the gridiron and notably negatively affected his recruiting opportunities. The physical style and fundamentally strong tackling makes Conti an appealing prospect for the Rutgers staff to help replenish the linebacking corps. He could end up at defensive end or fullback and surely will play special teams.
