Here is the logical first question when Rutgers introduces its eighth offensive coordinator in eight years in a coming days: Is the new hire going to at least sign a six-month lease on an apartment in Piscataway? Or will he find a place on Route 1 where he can pay cash at the front desk?
Drew Mehringer, we hardly knew ye. The 29-year-old is leaving Rutgers after one year and six Big Ten games where his "power spread" offense scored a touchdown or less, and he is actually leaving for a better gig.
Fans who are furious at Mehringer for fleeing Piscataway need to take a long walk in the cold air.
