Now the Patriots are on the other side of an apparent change of coaching mind.
Former Rutgers coach Greg Schiano will stay at Ohio State and remain its defensive coordinator, according to Sports Illustrated's Bruce Feldman, after reports indicated he was bolting the Buckeyes to become the new defensive coordinator in New England.
The news comes a day after Patriots offensive coordinator left the Indianapolis Colts at the altar in stunning fashion, reneging on an agreement to become the team's head coach after the Colts announced he was coming.
The difference here, of course, is the Patriots never announced Schiano's arrival to replace new Lions coach Matt Patricia.
