Ash wanted nothing to do with that variation of question throughout spring camp, dismissing it almost before reporters could get the full query out of their mouths.
Take last Thursday for example. In his final press briefing before the Scarlet-White scrimmage, Ash was asked this: "Do you have any idea internally at least where you're going to be heading into preseason camp.''
“No, I’ve said that a million times,'' Ash said, stiff-arming the question. "I know you’re trying to get me to say something.''
He chuckled a bit, then turned serious again to clarify exactly Rutgers' quarterback competition stands following spring camp:
"We have a bunch of young guys at the position other than (fifth-year senior) Gio (Rescigno),'' Ash said.
