Dan Hurley doesn't want to 'dishonor' Rhode Island by responding to Rutgers rumors

NEW YORK — There was an important word missing from Dan Hurley's answer when asked if he has interest in the head coaching vacancy at Rutgers: No.

Moments after Hurley's Rhode Island team lost, 67-62, to UMass in the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Thursday, NJ Advance Media asked the Jersey City native if he is interested in replacing Eddie Jordan, who was fired on Thursday afternoon.

"I'm not going to dishonor a group of guys or myself or my staff that have battled through an incredible season by responding to some social media speculation that's out there," Hurley said in a hallway of the Barclays Center.
