Sunday, Nov. 25 marked the beginning of college football's contact period, which will remain in effect until Feb. 2, 2019. However, there is a break within the period where contact is not permitted: The quiet period goes into effect Dec. 16, while the dead period begins Dec. 17 and spans until Jan. 10. And there's an additional quiet period for the National Service Academies which spans three days from Jan. 4 through Jan. 6.
During the contact period -- outside of the aforementioned quiet and dead periods which fall inside of it -- college coaching staffs are allowed six in-person, off-campus visits, no more often than once per calendar week (Sunday through Saturday).
