The College Football Playoff Selection Committee announced its third Top 25 ranking Tuesday night, and there was little suspense at the top.
Alabama remains No. 1 after defeating Mississippi State, 51-3, last Saturday, a win that improved the Crimson Tide to 10-0.
The bigger question heading into the latest College Football Playoff ranking was who would join Alabama in the top 4 after the Nos. 2 (Michigan), 3 (Clemson) and 4 (Washington) ranked teams in the AP Top 25 all lost on the same day for the first time since 1985 last Saturday.
