Closer look at how Washington exploited passing mismatch vs. Rutgers defense

PISCATAWAY -- The matchup within the matchup was supposed to be Washington quarterback Jake Browning and his wide receivers against the Rutgers defensive backs.

Instead it was Browning and his secondary pass-catchers against Rutgers defensive front seven.

While Rutgers showed great improvement in rushing defense, Washington exploited mismatches in the short passing game by using running backs and tight ends en route to a 30-14 victory.

Washington switched to a more up-tempo offense in the second half and it seemed to cause problems for Rutgers.
