Former Rutgers standout Todd Frazier came close in his attempt to capture a second straight Home Run Derby title, but alas, it was not to be.This year, Frazier ran up against an incredible performance by Giancarlo Stanton, who hit an incredible 61 home runs.
In his initial rounds, Frazier topped Colorado’s Carlos Gonzalez, and squeaked by Cincinnati’s Adam Duval, to place him in the final round of the Home Run Derby for a third consecutive year.
In the end, could not stop the steamroller that was Stanton of the Miami Marlins who hit 61 total bombs.
The new record-holder for most in a single #HRDerby.
