PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Gov. Chris Christie on Monday praised newly named Rutgers University athletic director Patrick Hobbs as a manager with "great integrity" who can "straighten out" the school's troubled sports program, but said he didn't push for him to get the post.
Hobbs, a dean emeritus of Seton Hall University School of Law and most recently, the ombudsman to the governor's office for ethical matters, had previously served as Seton Hall's interim athletic director in 2010.
"I love Pat Hobbs," said Christie, who was campaigning for president in New Hampshire on Monday afternoon.
