NEW YORK — Rutgers football fans got their first look at how coach Chris Ash performs under pressure.
Ash and Rutgers athletics director Pat Hobbs threw out simultaneous first pitches Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium in front of thousands of fans, though Ash had a little more on the line than just public scrutiny when he delivered a strike to catcher Austin Romine.
Just two days ago, Ash’s wife Doreen hit the catcher’s glove on her first pitch at a Somerset Patriots minor-league baseball game in Bridgewater.
