Carli Lloyd struck again in Olympic play, as she scored the winning goal again for the United States Women’s National Team against France in group play this afternoon. Her goal off a rebound in the 72nd minute was all the US needed against the #3 ranked team in the world. It was her 8th goal of her Olympic career and the 90th of her national team career.
At age 34, the captain of the three-time defending Olympic Gold champion continues to prove she is the best women’s player in the world. She also scored the winning goal in the first game on Wednesday in a 2-0 victory over New Zealand.
