Pick up any college football preview magazine on the newsstands this summer and every one includes a bowl projections list.
Rutgers isn't included on any of them.
Last month, the Las Vegas-based, sports-betting website Bovada released over-under win totals for all 130 FBS teams across the country and pegged Rutgers at 3 wins this season.
That's one more win than coach Chris Ash's inaugural campaign but three less than bowl-eligibility. By any measure, Rutgers' chances of earning the program's first bowl bid since 2014 is somewhere between slim-to-none.
