With the outcome of the match hinging on the final bout of Saturday night, Smith scored a reversal in the second overtime to win by decision and send No. 13 Rutgers to an 18-15 upset victory against traditional rival No. 7 Lehigh in front of 1,855 raucous fans at Rutgers Athletic Center.
“Honestly, we were wrestling real well in the beginning and I didn’t even think it would come down to me,” Smith said.
