WASHINGTON -- Any hope that Rutgers would stage an improbable run in the Big Ten Tournament ended at some point during an 11-minute run by Northwestern.

Take your pick between any of the five 3-pointers, or the three slam dunks, or the highlight-worthy alley-oop. It all added up to an epic 31-0 run that proved to be the difference in Northwestern's 83-61 rout of Rutgers on Thursday night in the Big Ten Tournament second round at the Verizon Center.

Rutgers, coached by Steve Pikiell and led by Corey Sanders, Nigel Johnson and Deshawn Freeman, meets Northwestern, coached by Chris Collins and paced by Bryant McIntosh and Scottie Lindsey, in the Big Ten Tournament second round on Thursday, March 9 (3/9/17) at the Verizon Center in Washington D.
