Big Ten reconsidering ban on FCS games? Potential good news for Rutgers

The ban on Big Ten football teams scheduling FCS opponents could be altered before it is even fully implemented.

You likely won't hear an objection at Rutgers. Or Purdue. Or Illinois. Or Maryland. Or a few other places.

North Dakota State athletics director Matt Larsen told the The Forum that he believes the Big Ten has changed its stance prohibiting teams from adding games against FCS (formerly Division I-AA) opponents to future schedules.

The policy was put into place in 2015 to force the scheduling of tougher non-conference games as a way to boost resumes for College Football Playoff selection.
