Rutgers outperformed last year's expectations, but is still not getting much respect in Cleveland.com's 2018 Big Ten preseason poll.
The Scarlet Knights were again predicted to finish last in the Big Ten East by a group of voters from media outlets covering the Big Ten polled by NJ.com's sister site ahead of Big Ten Media Days next week in Chicago.
Cleveland.com has conducted its own Big Ten preseason poll annually since the conference discontinued its official preseason poll in 2011.
Some progress has been made from a year ago. In 2017, all 28 voters said Rutgers would finish last in the division (the Scarlet Knights ended up taking fifth).
