In June, The National Federation of State High School Associations, the governing body for high school sports, released a new set of rules, that will go into effect in 2017 for high school football across the country, including New Jersey.
"We are a 100 percent member of the NFHS, so we follow all their rules," said Jack Dubois, assistant director of the NJSIAA, when reached for comment Thursday. "They write the rules for sports specific football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, boys lacrosse, ice hockey. Whatever rules they write, we follow. We are a 100 percent compliant state.
