The Rutgers football Academic Progress Rate score for the 2014-15 academic year was closer to the threshold for NCAA postseason sanctions than it was to the program’s previous standards of excellence.
A point of pride for Rutgers was hurt last week with the end of football’s nation-best streak of eight straight years receiving a Public Recognition Award for a Top 10 percent APR score.
But the degree to which the score fell under former coach Kyle Flood wasn’t known until Wednesday when the NCAA released individual team marks.
