PISCATAWAY — Patrick Hobbs has traveled the country, raising money for facility upgrades at Rutgers, and whether he's in California or just a few miles from campus, the conversation usually plays out the same way.
The new athletic director outlines what his coaches and athletes need to compete in the Big Ten and how he's planning to build it over the coming months and years.
And his target replies ...

The skepticism is fully warranted, of course. Rutgers, the undisputed national champion in feasibility studies, has had far too many frustrating starts and stops over the past two decades when it comes to facilities.
