Another Big Ten Tournament shocker? Rutgers holds off Minnesota to keep season alive

NEW YORK -- There's something about the Big Ten Tournament that brings out the best in Rutgers.

For the second straight year, the Scarlet Knights pulled off an upset as the 14-seed.

On Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, Rutgers rolled past 11th-seeded Minnesota 65-54 before an announced crowd of 14,681 fans.

Corey Sanders led all scorers with 23 points, while backcourt-mate Mike Williams chipped in with 12 points as Rutgers avenged an 89-67 loss to Minnesota to open Big Ten play in December.

With the win, Rutgers (14-18) advances to play 6th-seeded Indiana Thursday at approximately 9 p.
