Redshirt freshman wide receiver Ahmir Mitchell has been dismissed from the Rutgers football program for violating team rules, a source told NJ Advance Media on Friday.
Mitchell's career at Rutgers never got started.
The former four-star wide receiver transferred from Michigan to Rutgers in September 2016, after just a few weeks in Ann Arbor that included a team suspension.
Ironically, those two teams meet Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

Rutgers coach Chris Ash gave a second chance to Mitchell and later brought in his older brother, Damon, as a graduate transfer from Arkansas with the dual purpose of upgrading the wide receiver talent and providing a mentor to his younger brother.
