Addison Walkowiak knew she was winning something at Tuesday night's R Award, but only for logistical purposes.
"I was running back and forth from the Chancellor's event, because I knew I was getting an award over there," she said. "So I had to have someone accept my [R A]ward on my behalf if I wasn't here."
The timing worked out. Walkowiak was able to accept her competitive excellence award at the student center, then get back in time to the RAC to be named the Bauer female athlete of the year. The senior diver also won Rutgers' Big Ten postgraduate scholarship.
