A sign Rutgers might be loose before swing game vs. Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- As Rutgers football ran off the field Thursday night, there was a noticeable uptick from the usual amount of end-of-practice energy displayed two days before a game.

There was hooting, hollering and even some boasting.

In the unscientific world of trying to predict sports, was that a sign Rutgers (1-4, 0-2) is feeling loose headed toward a game that is its best chance to avoid back-to-back seasons with a winless Big Ten record?

"I don't know what loose or tight or any of that means," coach Chris Ash said.
