4-star Michigan WR transfer Ahmir Mitchell leaning towards in-state Rutgers

According to a source with knowledge of the events, Rutgers is the likely destination for Ahmir Mitchell, the 6-3, 205-pound four star wide receiver from the 2016 class, recently released from the Michigan football program.

Mitchell, who played his high school ball at Cedar Grove (Egg Harbor City, N.J.) was one of two freshmen suspended from the team entering fall camp. Rumors of the suspension began to surface when Mitchell and two other teammates weren't included in Michigan's 2016 team photo released Aug. 7, prompting media to seek answers from head coach Jim Harbaugh two weeks later.
