After an extremely productive month of June, when Rutgers football received ten commitments for its class of 2018, the program has now received their first pledge in July. 3-star wide receiver Paul Woods from Buffalo, New York announced his intentions to become a Scarlet Knight shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday at a commitment ceremony.
Woods considered a final five list of schools that included Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Temple and Buffalo. He also held offers from Boston College, Army and a slew of FCS schools, per 247 Sports. The recruiting site also mentioned interest from Ohio State, Penn State, Indiana, Pitt, and West Virginia.
