McConnell enters the fold for the Scarlet Knights three weeks after star guard Corey Sanders announced he would forego his senior season and enter the NBA Draft with intent to sign an agent. Rutgers is also losing guard Jake Dadika and Mike Williams to graduation.
McConnell, listed at 6-foot-5, 175 pounds, will be one of at least three new guards joining new face of the program Geo Baker in the backcourt for Rutgers in 2018-19.
