The grueling Rutgers offseason strength and conditioning program is paying dividends. A little luck never hurt, either.

Rutgers came out of training camp without any major injuries, though former No. 1 halfback Robert Martin has been limited. He is expected to play -- but not start -- against Washington.

"We are relatively healthy," Ash said. "We had very few injuries during training camp. A few bumps and bruises and ankle springs, things like that. Probably as healthy a football team as I've been around in a while out of the type of training camp that we put these guys through.
