With the Oscars going down soon, the topic of film is always a timely subject. Hockey films don’t hit the silver screen as often as their circular ball counterparts, but when they’re on, they’re non-stop awesomeness.

One such film was Goon, a 2011 black comedy starring Seann William Scott in the titular role, co-starring Jay Baruchel (She’s Out of My League) and Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan). Playing off the hockey trope of hockey enforcers, Scott starred as Doug “The Thug” Glatt, a not-so-skilled hockey player that finds a role on a minor league hockey team as a fighter.
