Stephen Strasburg Returns to IL

Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post reports Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburgh will return to the 10-day injured list because of a lingering neck injury.

Strasburgh left Tuesday’s matchup with the Atlanta Braves after pitching 1.1 innings, facing seven batters, allowing one run on one hit with one strikeout. He has missed more than a month this season because of the injury, returning to the Nationals rotation on May 21. He has started five games this season, with a 4.57 ERA, 22.1% K rate and a 1.38 WHIP. He has been plagued by injuries for the past two seasons, making two starts in the 2020 season.
