There is no disputing that he’s worth it, especially after his postseason performance, but reports indicate that Luka Doncic will sign a super-max extension with the Dallas Mavericks.
The bar is particularly high for qualifying for a super-max extension coming off a rookie contract. As noted by Dan Feldman, Doncic could be the first player since Derrick Rose to qualify for a super-max contract in his fifth season. If Doncic is named to the All-NBA Team, he could meet the criteria of being named MVP, make certain All-NBA Teams, or win Defensive Player of the Year in his first four seasons.
