It’s no secret that Jones is on the trading block. He has three years and $66M left on his contract, and the Falcons would like to get that off their books. They were reportedly asking for a first-round draft pick before the draft, but no one was willing to jump at that offer. Now, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports that the Falcons would “probably” trade Jones for a second-round pick “at this point.”
The tricky part about trading Jones is that the decreased salary cap for 2021 results in fewer suitors. Only eight teams have enough salary-cap space available to add Jones to their roster without moving money around.
