Major changes are coming to the Celtics. Ainge has been a part of the Celtics front office since 2003, but ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that he is expected to step down from his role as President of Basketball Operations. Brad Stevens will transition from his current role to the new head of basketball operations, and he will lead the search for a new head coach. The moves are expected to be announced formally later in the day.

Ainge was instrumental in rebuilding the Celtics’ roster following the era of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen, and he stockpiled tons of draft picks.
